Welcome, friends and family, to my newest form of communication! I have just been given the green light to buy my airplane ticket to San Salvador. So, as of the end of this month, I will no longer be a Texas Ex (University of Texas alum) living in Texas.
For April and May, I'll be living in Chalchuapas, El Salvador. I'll be working in a home for teenage-ish girls (9-17 years old) who come from at-risk homes. During the day, when the girls are at school, there is a daycare for younger children whose families can't afford to care for them. I'll be assisting the English and grammar teacher, as well as helping to care for all the kids. The job description, as always, is subject to change, and I'll probably be learning a lot of it as I go along.
In June, I head off to Santa Rosa de Copan, in Honduras. I don't know yet what I'll be doing there, but it'll probably be along the same lines. Both sites are in very beautiful areas, so I'll be posting pictures here so you can see what I see!
Things are beginning to get very real, especially as I head off to Round 2 of vaccinations and shop for things like industrial-strength bug spray. It's hard to believe this is actually happening!
In the meantime, feel free to post a comment, email me, etc. I'll update again when I get closer to the departure day. Ciao for now!

Yaaaaaaaaay, Molly! Welcome to blogging. If you let it, it sucks you in.
Don't. Let it.
Seriously, I'm excited to read about your adventures. I still pray for you all every Wednesday, and have those cards you did for me in my Office book.
I'm so sad you are leaving! But i'm really excited for you. Stay up on this blog thing better than i did mine!
